The pineapple has long been a symbol of welcome, and our Pineapple Medallion will be a welcoming sight to those who view its abundance of color and dimension. This block was inspired by a vintage fabric design and is laden with ribbon, velvet, beads, and embroidery. The pattern includes instructions to create wired ribbon roses, a padded pineapple with beads, ruched flowers, and more. Our essential Ribbon Kit includes ombré wired ribbon for roses, 2 colors of seam binding ribbon for gathered flowers, hand-dyed bias silk ribbon for pineapple leaves, green velvet ribbon for leaves, and blue velvet for flower centers. Add our optional Thread Kit—which includes 1 skein of Aurora thread by The Thread Gatherer, and 4 skeins of hand-dyed Painters Threads: pearl cotton #8, pearl cotton #12, Shimmer ribbon tape, and 7mm ribbon—and you are ready for some real stitching fun!
